Today, I explored The Best Web 2.0 Tools for Teachers 2012 Edition. I also explored The 100 Best Web 2.0 Classroom Tools Chosen By You. I found a lot of great resources that are being used by teachers in classrooms everywhere! These are great tools that are usually free and easy to use. While I was looking through this web article and slideshow of tools, I saw a lot of tools that I have personally used before and love.
The first resource that I would use within my classroom that I discovered through the slideshow is Text 2 Mind Map. This resource is an easy tool to use to create mindmaps. I could see myself using this tool with my own students to have them create their outlines or webs of thinking before writing a paper. I could also use the mind maps to have the students create webs of how things link to each other. Another idea that I have to use mind maps is to use one to create it about vocabulary words and have the vocabulary words for the week branch off of it. Then this web could include examples and definitions for each word off of those words. This would be a great way for the students to learn their vocabulary words in a different and unique way.
The second resource that I saw on the slideshow that I know I will use in my future teaching is Infogr.am. I have used tools similar to infogr.am this year to create infographics and they are amazing tools! This is an easy tool to use to create an infographic. It is also free! This resource could be used within my own classroom to have my students create their own interactive infographic about the subject material we are covering at that point. For example, if my class were to be learning about the seven continents, I could split my class into seven groups and assign them each one continent. They would then research and use the infographic to show their research results.
